THE

JOURNEY SERIES

The Journey Series is a free 6-week virtual learning series on Addiction & Recovery beginning September 3rd through October 8th  on Thursdays at 2:30 PM and 3:35 PM CT. Over the course of The Journey Series, you will hear from various experts in the field. Scroll down for more information, to register, and watch recordings of sessions.

The virtual learning series, historically known as The Journey Day, has been hosted in Jefferson County by the Recovery Ministries of the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama. Recognizing the significant impact the opioid epidemic had on Walker County, the Recovery Ministries graciously partnered with the Walker Co. Health Action Partnership to bring an invaluable learning opportunity to Walker County. Then the Covid-19 pandemic required us to adapt our plans, resulting in a stellar 6-week virtual learning series available to an even bigger audience - The Journey Series. We hope you'll join us in this learning journey!

This event would not have been possible without the collaboration & support of all of our partners. We would like to extend a special thanks to:

  •  Recovery Ministries of the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama  for "relocating" their The Journey Day event to Walker County this year after hosting it in Jefferson County for several years, content development, organizational support, and sponsorship;

  • Bradford Health Services, Inc. for overseeing continuing education contact hours and making the transition to the virtual Journey Series seamless by managing the Zoom Webinar platform for all sessions;

  • Addiction Prevention Coalition and Jennifer Campbell of Jennifer Campbell Consulting for Journey Series graphics;

  • Walker Area Community Foundation for allowing intern Laynie Snyder to coordinate event planning during her summer internship through the Jean O'Connor-Snyder Internship Program. Laynie managed program development, scheduling, and created the Journey Series website;

  • and our entire team of Partners (listed below) for generously donating staff time to plan Journey Series and share their expertise on addiction and recovery.
